International English Language Testing System popularly known as IELTS is an English Language Test. It is a test conducted by two bodies IDP Australia and British Council. Students are free to select from any one of the two. In India, at present, only IDP Australia conducts the tests.
IELTS is accepted worldwide for almost all the study, work and PR programs.
Minimum age to appear for IELTS is 16 years while there is no upper age limit to appear.
The score is valid for 2 years from the date of Test.
Both the variants have four modules Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. However, Reading and Writing modules have difference in Academic and General Training.
Each module is assigned a band score from 1 to 9. Also there is an overall band score assigned to the test taker which is an average of individual four module bands.

The exam can be booked from its website. It is conducted in major cities across India.
The result for Pen Paper based test is available in 7 to 13 days while for Computer Delivered within 2 to 3 days.
A mark sheet of IELTS is also known as test Report Form (TRF).
IELTS for UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) is a particular form of IELTS specifically for applicants who want to study, work or settle in the UK.
It is not compulsory for students willing to study in the UK to appear for IELTS for UKVI Academic version as appearing for normal IELTS is valid in the UK.
